Dr. Guadalupe López-Íñiguez is an accomplished researcher, educator, and professional cellist specializing in Music Education and Performance Science. She serves as a University Researcher in Instrumental Pedagogy and Performance Science at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki, Finland, and is also an Honorary Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Her research focuses on musicians’ learning, self-regulation, motivation, identity, and wellbeing, particularly among children gifted for music. She currently leads the international project “The Politics of Care in the Professional Education of Children Gifted for Music,” funded by the Research Council of Finland. Since 2009, she has contributed to numerous international research projects and authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications. Her interdisciplinary work integrates psychology, education, and music performance, aiming to create sustainable and supportive learning ecosystems for future musicians.
