In the pursuit of research endeavors, she was awarded the TÜBİTAK NATO-A2 Research Fellowship, spanning from April 1996 to December 1997. Following this, she had the privilege of a Research Fellowship at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, which extended from January 1997 to March 1997, further enriching she research experience. In recognition of she outstanding performance, she received the METU Performance Premium in the years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2015. Embarking on she academic career in 1989, she held the position of Assistant at METU (Middle East Technical University) in Turkey until 1997. During this period, she contributed to the academic environment, laying the groundwork for she subsequent roles. In 1997, she expanded  horizons as a Visiting Scholar at OSU (Ohio State University) in the United States, gaining valuable insights and exposure to international research perspectives. Returning to METU in 1997, she assumed the role of an Instructor, where her actively engaged in educational initiatives until 2000. Subsequently, she progressed to the position of Assistant Professor, further contributing to the academic community at METU until 2002. Advancing in my career, she achieved the rank of Associate Professor in 2002, solidifying  expertise in the field of study.
