He has held various professional roles, including researcher, consultant, and lecturer, where he has been involved in the formulation of national policies and strategies, such as industrialization policies in Burundi. René Nsabimana pursued his academic journey with dedication, culminating in a Doctorate in Economics and Management from the University of Liège, Belgium, and the University of Burundi in September 2022. His doctoral thesis delved into the critical analysis of service quality and access to electricity, reflecting his profound interest in public policies. Prior to this, he acquired a Master’s Complementary Degree in Financial Risk Management, specializing in finance, from the University of Liège, Belgium, in June 2014. René also holds a Diploma of Higher Specialized Studies (DESS) in Economic Policy Management (GPE) from the University of Yaoundé II-Soa, Cameroon, which he completed in November 2022. His academic journey commenced with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economic and Administrative Sciences from the Institut Supérieur des Cadres Militaires (ISCAM), Burundi, in August 2003. Additionally, he enriched his expertise with specialized certificates in sustainable sanitation and drinking water management from renowned institutions in Norway and China. Professional Experience

René Nsabimana’s professional journey is marked by diverse experiences in academia, research, and consultancy, showcasing his versatility and expertise in economic policy management, finance, and private sector development. From May 2013 to September 2022, he served as a Professional Researcher at the Institute for Economic Development in Burundi (IDEC), where he conducted in-depth analyses of commercial policies, economic integration, private sector development, and agricultural policies. René actively contributed to the formulation of national industrialization policies and strategies, including Burundi’s industrialization policy. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in transversal issues like gender equality, reflecting his commitment to inclusive development.
