Professor Andy Lane, PhD, CPsychol, CSci, FBASES, is a highly respected Sport and Exercise Psychologist with more than 25 years of academic leadership, research excellence, and professional engagement. Mr. Guanghui Zhai is a dedicated early-career researcher with a strong academic background and an emerging international profile in psychology and cognitive neuroscience. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. (2022–2025) at the Faculty of Psychology, Tianjin Normal University, China, following his undergraduate studies in the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Sichuan Agricultural University (2013–2017), where he developed an interdisciplinary foundation that bridges engineering principles with psychological research. His professional experience is centered on behavioral science and neuroimaging research, where he has served as first author and co-author on several high-impact studies addressing the effects of digital media usage, particularly short-video engagement, on subjective well-being, attention networks, and sleep quality. His research interests lie in media psychology, cognitive neuroscience, mental health, brain connectivity, and well-being, with a strong focus on how modern technological behaviors influence cognitive processes and emotional outcomes. He is skilled in advanced research methodologies, including mediation/path modeling, resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), connectome-based predictive modeling (CPM), electroencephalography (EEG) microstate analysis, and network neuroscience approaches, which allow him to integrate behavioral data with neural mechanisms to provide a comprehensive understanding of psychological phenomena. His scholarly outputs include an accepted article in Behavioral Sciences and submissions under review or preparation in reputed journals such as Neuropsychologia and Current Psychology, reflecting both productivity and research quality. Although still at an early stage, Mr. Zhai has already gained recognition for his contributions and is poised to receive further academic honors as his career advances.
