Dr. Turkan Mutlu Yar is a dedicated Doctor Ogretim Uyesi in the Department of Medical Parasitology at Ordu University, Faculty of Medicine, where she has been contributing to academic research, teaching, and diagnostics since 2023. She completed her PhD in Parasitology at İnönü University in 2015, with a thesis focused on the effectiveness of PCR in diagnosing Trichomonas infections in male patients. Her academic background also includes a thesis-based Master’s degree in Parasitology, a non-thesis Master’s degree in Biology Teaching, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Fırat University. Dr. Yar’s research expertise spans intestinal parasites, cystic echinococcosis, trichomoniasis, zoonotic parasitic diseases, diagnostic molecular methods, and machine learning applications in parasitology. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in international journals, including studies on Helicobacter pylori, Toxoplasma gondii, Toxocara species, and intestinal parasite prevalence in clinical and community settings. Her collaborative work also explores the antiparasitic effects of plant extracts, decision tree algorithms for disease severity, and risk factor modeling for parasitic infections. In addition, she has contributed multiple book chapters on parasitic diseases, zoonotic infections, liver trematodes, free-living amoebae, and hospital-acquired parasitic pathogens.
