With a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, his core expertise encompasses atmospheric pollution, environmental health, air quality monitoring, heavy metal exposure assessment, and climate–pollution interactions. Over the last decade, Dr. Aher has significantly contributed to translational research addressing environmental risks and public health burden, particularly in the context of Central India’s industrial and agricultural pollution landscape. Dr. Aher’s scientific output includes more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, with five indexed in PubMed, reflecting steady contributions to environmental monitoring, pollutant behaviour analysis, climate impacts, and exposure-based health risk assessments. His work demonstrates a growing scholarly footprint, reflected in an H-index of 16. He has served as first, last, or corresponding author in several high-impact publications, underscoring his leadership in research execution and scientific communication. His research additionally spans interdisciplinary collaborations with experts in soil science, climate modelling, atmospheric chemistry, and community health systems. As Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator, Dr. Aher has successfully executed multiple large-scale environmental health projects funded by national bodies including ICMR and industrial partners. His portfolio includes research on particulate matter characterization, crop-residue burning, trace metal profiling, respiratory disease epidemiology, environmental exposure in vulnerable populations, and mitigation frameworks for community-scale pollution management. Notably, he is actively involved in the flagship ICMR-funded CRISPI project, examining chronic respiratory disease burden associated with environmental exposures across India. Dr. Aher is also recognized as a Fellow of prestigious scientific bodies including UGC, ICAR-IISS, IIAPC, and ISCA, reflecting his credibility, scientific leadership, and contribution to national research priorities. His work continues to support public health policies, air quality mitigation strategies, and sustainable environmental governance—bridging scientific evidence with societal benefit.
