Dal gennaio 2023, sono Professore di seconda fascia nel settore scientifico-disciplinare MED/07 – Microbiologia e Microbiologia Clinica presso il Dipartimento di Medicina Sperimentale dell’Università del Salento.

FORMAZIONE:

Ho conseguito la Laurea in Medicina e Chirurgia presso l’Università Milano-Bicocca nel 2010, con una tesi sperimentale dal titolo “Markers di infezione di HPV per la prevenzione del carcinoma uterino”. Successivamente, nel 2011, ho ottenuto l’abilitazione alla professione di Medico-Chirurgo (Albo dei Medici Chirurghi di Monza-Brianza, N° 03563). Nel 2003 ho completato la Specializzazione in Microbiologia e Virologia presso l’Università degli Studi di Milano, conseguendo il punteggio di 70 e lode. La mia tesi sperimentale per questa specializzazione si intitolava “Infezioni erpetiche in pazienti affetti da disordini neurologici”. Inoltre, nel 1997 ho ottenuto la Laurea in Scienze Biologiche presso l’Università degli Studi di Pisa con il massimo dei voti (110 e lode), presentando una tesi sperimentale dal titolo “Infezioni erpetiche in pazienti affetti da disordini neurologici”. Sono iscritto all’elenco speciale dell’Ordine Nazionale dei Biologi con il numero 018295.

 FINANZIAMENTI PER LA RICERCA:

Nel 2022 ho partecipato al progetto PRIN “InCritA: Interazioni critiche nell’aria: studi sui determinanti ambientali e tecnologici per una valutazione robusta del rischio di inalazione di agenti patogeni nell’aria e sviluppo di linee guida e tecnologiche ottimizzate per la mitigazione del rischio”. Nel 2014, ho ricevuto una Quota Ateneo Competitiva per il progetto “HHV-6A and HHV-6B in Multiple Sclerosis: Role of CD4 T-regulatory cell dysregulation via CD46 engagement and KIR genetic background”. Nel 2010, ho ricoperto il ruolo di Responsabile Scientifico per il progetto “Sviluppo e convalida di piattaforme quantitative e multiplex per diagnostica molecolare in campo infettivologico”, finanziato dalla Regione Lombardia-Ateneo Bicocca-PMI. Nel 2008, ho partecipato al progetto FIRB “Nuove piattaforme immunologiche e virologiche per il Monitoraggio delle infezioni virali in pazienti adulti e pediatrici riceventi trapianto allogenico di Cellule Staminali Emopoietiche: set-up terapeutico con trattamenti antivirali standard e immunoterapia adottiva di seconda linea” (SCORE 40/40). Nel 2007, ho ricevuto un finanziamento dalla FONDAZIONE CARIPLO per il progetto “Markers virali per la prevenzione del carcinoma uterino”.

Prior to this, in 2006, she pursued a study on “Methods of consolidation, conservation, and restoration of documents on paper support” at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection, “Gh. Position:

Dr. Mihaela Tanase-Opedal has held various positions in research and science. Since 2020, she has been working as a Senior Research Scientist at RISE PFI in Trondheim, Norway. Prior to this role, she worked at the same institution as a Research Scientist from 2011 to 2020. Additionally, in June 2008, she took on a summer job at Norske Skog Saugbrugs Halden in Norway, where she was involved in a project focusing on mechanical bleaching.

Experience:

From 2021 to 2024, she served as the Work Package (WP) leader for the project titled “Green wax inhibitors and production chemicals based on lignin (LignoWax),” funded by the Research Council of Norway. In the same period (2021-2023), she took on the role of Project Leader for a preliminary study focused on the optimal recovery of chemicals from process water. This project was owned by Rygene Smith&Thommesen AS and received funding from Innovation Norway. In another project from 2021 to 2022, she led a WP for the project “Bærekraftig fiskefôr fra norsk skogbasert biomasse (FôrNor),” which was an IPN project (321588). In this project, she was both the Project Leader and the project owner, representing Synergifabrikken AS. RISE PFI participated in this project as a partner and was also a WP leader. Continuing her active involvement, from 2020 to 2024, Dr. Mihaela Tanase-Opedal acted as the WP leader for the project “Produksjon av Arbacore pellets and fôrprotein fra trevirke (ArbaFeed),” which was another IPN project (ES656466). In this role, he has been involved in groundbreaking research, notably in the development of a metadata-based model for detecting malicious and benign packages within the NPM repository. The model introduces two sets of features, namely easy to manipulate (ETM) and difficult to manipulate (DTM), with DTM manipulation relying on long-term planning and monotonic properties. The team has verified the effectiveness of their feature selection using four well-known machine learning techniques and one deep learning technique. Additionally, they have analyzed algorithm performance using metadata manipulation and have recommended improved metadata adversarial attack-resistant algorithms. The experimental analysis conducted on their proposed model has shown a significant reduction of 97.56% in False Positive cases and 80.35% in False Negative cases.
