Assist. Prof. Dr. Nasim Nasrabadi | Mathematics | Research Excellence Award
Dr. Nasim Nasrabadi is an accomplished Iranian mathematician and Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Mathematical Science and Statistics at the University of Birjand, where she has served since 2010. Born on September 6, 1982, she completed her academic journey in Applied Mathematics with a specialization in Operations Research at Kharazmi University of Tehran, earning her B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees with outstanding academic performance. Her doctoral research, supervised by Professor G.R. Jahanshahloo and advised by Professor Pekka Korhonen, focused on advanced models for efficiency analysis. Dr. Nasrabadi’s research expertise spans Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM), and Inverse Optimization, contributing significantly to these fields through high-impact journal publications, conference presentations, and a scholarly book in Persian on Multi-Criteria Decision Making. Her academic career includes international research experience at Aalto University in Finland, where she worked as a researcher and visiting scholar across multiple years. Nationally, she has held several leadership roles, including Research Affairs Administrator, Postgraduate Affairs Administrator, and Deputy Director of the Mathematics Department at the University of Birjand. She has also supervised several graduate theses and serves as a reviewer for prestigious journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research. Dr. Nasrabadi has been recognized throughout her academic path with numerous scholarships and awards for excellence. Fluent in English and skilled in mathematical programming tools including Maple, GAMS, and LaTeX, she continues to actively contribute to the advancement of applied mathematics and decision-making sciences.
