Assoc Prof Dr Ujwala Shinde has achieved the following degrees: a Ph.D. (Tech) from Bombay College of Pharmacy, University of Mumbai, in 2005; an M.Pharm from UDCT, University of Mumbai, in 1992, where she achieved First Class; and a B.Pharm from UDCT, University of Mumbai, in 1990, where she also achieved First Class. Dr. Ujwala Shinde completed her Ph.D. (Tech) in Pharmaceutics at the Bombay College of Pharmacy, Mumbai, from 1999 to 2005, under the guidance of Prof. M.S. Nagarsenker, who was also the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics at the time. Her doctoral thesis was titled “Studies on Microencapsulation.” Prior to her Ph.D., she earned an M.Pharm. Sci in Medicinal Natural Product from the University Department of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, from 1990 to 1992. During this period, she conducted research under the guidance of Prof. Purnima D. Amin, a Professor in Pharmaceutics at the Institute of Chemical Technology, focusing on “Sodium Alginate and Xanthan gum as matrix Former for Controlled Drug Delivery,” for which she received a grade of 57.2%, earning her a first-class distinction. Dr. Shinde has received recognition for her academic contributions, including the Devang Mehta National Education Award for Best Professor in Pharmaceutics Studies in the 27th Edition of Business School Affaire & Dewang Mehta National Education Awards event ceremony at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, on November 22, 2019. Dr. Mihaela Tanase-Opedal has held various positions in research and science. Since 2020, she has been working as a Senior Research Scientist at RISE PFI in Trondheim, Norway. Prior to this role, she worked at the same institution as a Research Scientist from 2011 to 2020. Additionally, in June 2008, she took on a summer job at Norske Skog Saugbrugs Halden in Norway, where she was involved in a project focusing on mechanical bleaching.

Experience:

From 2021 to 2024, she served as the Work Package (WP) leader for the project titled “Green wax inhibitors and production chemicals based on lignin (LignoWax),” funded by the Research Council of Norway. In the same period (2021-2023), she took on the role of Project Leader for a preliminary study focused on the optimal recovery of chemicals from process water. This project was owned by Rygene Smith&Thommesen AS and received funding from Innovation Norway. In another project from 2021 to 2022, she led a WP for the project “Bรฆrekraftig fiskefรดr fra norsk skogbasert biomasse (FรดrNor),” which was an IPN project (321588). In this project, she was both the Project Leader and the project owner, representing Synergifabrikken AS. RISE PFI participated in this project as a partner and was also a WP leader. Continuing her active involvement, from 2020 to 2024, Dr. Mihaela Tanase-Opedal acted as the WP leader for the project “Produksjon av Arbacore pellets and fรดrprotein fra trevirke (ArbaFeed),” which was another IPN project (ES656466). Education:

During my academic journey, he have achieved significant milestones in the field of Inorganic Chemistry. he completed Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) from March 2004 to February 2009. He doctoral thesis focused on the “Synthesis and Application of High Surface Area Metallic Nanostructures,” under the guidance of Prof. Joon T. Park. Prior to my Ph.D., heย  pursued Master of Science in Inorganic Chemistry at KAIST from March 2002 to February 2004. he master’s thesis centered on the “Synthesis and Characterization of Bisfullerene-Tetrairidium Cluster Compound,” also under the mentorship of Prof. Joon T. Park.ย  commenced academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Chung-Ang University, where laid the foundation for my future academic pursuits from March 1995 to February 2002. These educational experiences have equipped me with a strong foundation and expertise in Inorganic Chemistry, enabling me to contribute meaningfully to the field. ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ”ฌ

Employment History:

In professional journey, he have held various significant roles in the field of scientific research and academia. Since March 2015, he have been serving as a Principal Researcher in the Division of Scientific Instrumentation at the Korea Basic Science Institute, where he have been involved in leading and conducting groundbreaking research projects. Prior to this, from March 2015 to February 2018, he served as an Associate Professor in the Division of Chemical Convergence Materials at the University of Science and Technology, where he contributed to the academic and research activities of the institution. Additionally, from March 2011 to February 2013, he served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Engineering Chemistry at the College of Engineering, Chungbuk National University, where he had the opportunity to impart knowledge and mentor students in the field of chemistry and engineering. He professional journey began in March 2009 when he joined the Korea Basic Science Institute as a Senior Researcher in the Division of Materials Science, where he conducted impactful research in the field of materials science. These experiences have enriched expertise and contributed to growth as a professional in the field of scientific research and academia. ๐Ÿข๐Ÿ”ฌ
